I'm a Specialist Anaesthetist and Fellow of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) trained at Royal North Shore Hospital with experience in anaesthesia for all surgical specialties with sub-specialty experience in Spinal and Burns surgery. I completed an Airway Fellowship with additional experience in Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and Head & Neck Surgery. I also completed a Pre-Hospital & Retrieval Medicine Fellowship with Care Flight & NSW Ambulance, working on the Toll Helicopter Emergency Medical Service. I am an instructor at Sydney Clinical Skills & Simulation Centre on the EMAC Course (Effective Management of Anaesthetic Crises) focussing on human factors, non-technical & teamwork skills. I also contribute to teaching with the Safe Airway Society and Critical Care Airway Management organisations. I have an interest in pain management and actively work in this area.
I grew up in Perth, Western Australia and studied Sports Science before transferring into Physiotherapy. I worked clinically as a Physiotherapist in private practice and hospitals before transitioning into health management and project management. While enjoyable, I wasn't fulfilled. I needed to come back to clinical care but wanted to offer more. I studied Medicine at The University of Sydney and completed my junior doctor years at Royal North Shore Hospital. I now call Sydney home, where I'm raising my young son on the north shore.
